Check out these backstage pictures of the D&G Fall 2010 runway show at Milan last week. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana consider themselves designers as well as customer service professionals, who listen to what their clients want. These days, that doesn’t include wearing what appeals just to magazine stylists. If there is anything Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana love, aside from a bustier, it’s a theme (particularly for their D&G collection). The models, cozied up in cute, cropped sweaters, teeny knit bloomers and tube tops accessorised with glittery goggles and knee-high fur boots, were strictly snow bunnies. It was an adorable Alpine escapade with Nordic knits done in combinations of maroon and ivory and grey and ivory, some sporting a reindeer or two. And sweaters, cabled turtlenecks, sweet, belted dresses, and pouf-sleeved tops together with chiffon tie-neck blouses and frothy skirts.

Diane von Furstenberg may have had the best inspirational line ever in her Fall/Winter 2010 show notes: “I always wanted to live a man’s life in a woman’s body.” With a combination of tailored suit jackets and free-flowing cocktail dresses Ms.Von Furstenberg showed a collection that appealed to a vast majority at the New York Fashion Week. Front row were: Rachel Zoe, Peaches Geldof, Molly Sims, Anna Wintour, André Leon Talley and Shantel VanSanten.

V magazine went backstage at the Spring/Summer 2010 show of Alexander McQueen in Paris. The shoes were true showstoppers. McQueen gave the models a hard time walking the runway to show the collection. The shoes were high, had crazy alienated shapes with reptile prints all over them. But truth be told, they look fabulous coming down the runway.

Victoria Koblenko (actress, traveler, dreamer) wore D&G at the ELLE Style Awards 2010 last week in The Hermitage in Amsterdam. The shoes are her own design. The bag ‘Ceci est un IT Bag’ is by Longchamp. We love her look!

Rihanna is glowing in a fabulous lace Jean Paul Gaultier dress and De Grisogono jewels at the 11th Annual NRJ Music Awards at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, last Saturday. The singer picked up the award for International Female Artist of the Year.

Miriam, our buyer at Welikefashion.com, was being interviewed this morning by SBS Hart van Nederland about the trends for this fall. Miriam talks about the must-haves for this season. You don’t want to miss out!

Two fashionshows, six models, one store. There’s still a lot of preparing to do on the day itself: hair and make-up for the models, fittings, goodiebags and guestlists check… you name it, we’ve done it.

No one is calm before a fashionshow, except for the models. Dressers are nervous about getting the models ready in time for their next round. Accessories and shoes are flying in all directions… The stylists and models are running around, but pumped up to set foot on the catwalk.

Both shows went well and the crowd was amazing. Thank you to everyone who came out! We’ll see you at the next fashionshow!
