Spotted, Eline Havenaar (19) heading to the centre of Amsterdam. She is visiting her sister who lives in Amsterdam. Eline studies in Tilburg at Fontys, Musical and Theater. She wants to become a musical star. She would describe her style as girlie vintage. She likes to wear old fashion items like the sunglasses she’s wearing now. The shoes she bought at a really cheap shoe shop and the pants she’s wearing she bought at Mango. The bag is vintage. Eline likes to combine her vintage items with anything she likes, this way she creates her own style.

This is Lianne Jongens, 22 years old and Chemistry student at the University of Amsterdam. She’s living in Amsterdam for 2 years now. On this warm summer day she’s wearing a colorful jumpsuit which she bought at River Island. The bag is souvenir from Mallorca and the flip flops were a present from her aunt. Lianne describes her style as ‘the mood of the day’. Some day she feels like dressing up and the other day she just wants to wear jeans with sneakers and a simple t-shirt. She gets her inspiration from her friends and from the streets while biking in the city.

To celebrate the launch of his archives, couturier Valentino hosted a star-studded party at his 17th century Louis VIII chateau, Wildville, about 30 minutes outside of Paris. Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Hurley and Marc Jacobs were amongst the best-dressed celebrities. Anna Wintour, wearing a flower-embroidered Erdem dress, arrived with Blake Lively and Natalia Vodianova. The archive, with more than 200 sketches from 1959 when he opened his atelier in Rome to 2008 when he presented his final haute couture collection, is expected to be completed next year and will be available to students.

This year’s Whitney Art Party was held in a Soho (New York) loft and was split in two: one side for lounging, one for art. The annual art auction and afterparty attracted a lot of fashionable celebrities. More than a few guests were circulating in sponsor’s clothing BCBG Max Azria like Selita Ebanks. Christina Ricci wore a Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress and BCBG Max Azria clutch and heels and was spotted with Lubov Azria, in BCBG Max Azria. Lounging were models Monique Péan and Alek Wek, both wearing Edition by Georges Chakra.

Spotted, Sara van de Ven (24) at the Sarphatipark in Amsterdam. Sara lives in Amsterdam and works in the Vredespijp, an Art Deco-furniture-organic lunch room. She describes her style as alternative-hip. Her shoes are from Topshop. She likes to mix her style with alternative items she finds in second hand stores. The blue hat matches her red hair. At the moment her fashion obsession is all about bows. In the future she wants to work as a big festival marketer, but for now she’s enjoying the summery temperatures.

Canada is cool and Toronto resident Brittney is living proof of that! Brittney is a 24 year old shop manager in Toronto’s fashion district Queen Street. This charming chick likes to dress a little eccentric and loves Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Next to fashion, music is another passion of hers and she admits her style is definitely inspired by music artists like Lady Gaga.  The entire outfit she is wearing comes from the shop where she works, called Mendocino. Earlier this week the 2010 Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards were held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in New York. Guests included Lara Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alexa Chung, Diane von Furstenberg, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Amanda Hearst, Iman and David Bowie, Vanessa Traina, Jessica Stam and more. Our very own Doutzen was also present, looking stunning in a classic black ensemble.

Meet Anne, 22 years old and just moved from Eindhoven to Amsterdam. In September she’s going to study Media & Communication, but for now she’s planning to discover Amsterdam. She describes her style as basic versus girly mixed with a high fashion touch . Someday she wants to work as an editor at a fashion magazine.

This is Gwen Jansen, a 27 year old Hair Stylist and Make-up Artist at Salon-B in Amsterdam. Sometimes she works freelance for different magazines. She’s got lots of ambition en likes to travel. She describes her style as trailer-trash meets vintage 80’s.
The big orange jacket is vintage and she bought the T-shirt in London. She’s fond of make-up, especially pink cheeks! Gwen spends a lot of money on nail-polish. She says her style is fun because it makes her stand out in the crowd.

Christiane Vreeswijk is a 23-year-old student at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute from which she is graduating this summer. She’s writing a thesis about a new Fashion Museum in Amsterdam and is, because of it, nominated for the AMFI Smart Stiletto award. Of course she’s hoping to win! Next year she’s planning to go to a University, studying something totally different: Communication Science. Christiane doesn’t exactly know how to describe her style because she changes it every year. Nowadays she’s into flowers but next year her wardrobe could be all black. Her boots are vintage and she likes to combine all of her vintage stuff with anything she likes!
