The new Tim Burton creation ‘Alice in Wonderland’  has premiered and it functioned for a lot of fashion designers as inspiration. Obviously Nicholas Kirkwood went all out designing these ‘Alice in Wonderland’ inspired killer heels. “I am very happy to be involved in this project as I love Alice In Wonderland. My interpretation for Alice is all about fantasy and fun through escapism.” Kirkwood told Vogue earlier. No wonder they are being shown in a special window display of the luxurious French department store Printemps during Paris Fashion Week.

During a two-day-long vintage Chanel sale, held at the Parisian ‘Drouot Richelieu’ auction house, hundreds of fashionistas were drawn to the French capital last week. Lots of items were on display included iconic tweed skirt suits, classic chain handbags, 1980s-era ensembles by the label’s current designer Karl Lagerfeld, and vintage haute couture gowns by Mademoiselle Chanel herself. While some of the vintage pieces stayed safely behind velvet ropes for one to watch, most of the clothing and accessories could be handled, inspected and even tried on. Women of all ages, some of them dressed in head-to-toe Chanel, rushed to the racks finding their Chanel piece for a bargain price. There were even some people calling from overseas (USA, Asia) to bid on special items. It took assessor Francoise Sternbach from ‘Drouot Richelieu’ a year and a half to assemble the more than 800 lots, which she acquired from private sellers. Surprisingly some of the vintage items were in such beautiful state that they probably will end up going to museums.

It’s not easy pulling out some breezy summer clothes with this weather. Even though the sun doesn’t shine, we sure will. With this soft-coloured yellow tunic. The color goes extremely well with blue washed jeans. Accessorize this tunic as you wish (read: lots of necklaces) and finish your outfit off with a pair of comfy shoes.

Maybe it took us a while, but finally we’re all used to the leather shorts trend. Watch Miley Cyrus and Whitney Port wear it in two different ways. While Miley is taking her dog for a walk and chose to combine it with a loggers blouse and biker boots, Whitney is doing the more classic thing with a conservative top and leopard print ankle booties.

It hasn’t been the first and it probably will not be the last time around: Supermodel Naomi Campbell attacked one of her staff members. The catwalk legend’s chauffeur accused her of hitting him from behind from the back seat of her luxury car driving around in New York City last night. He informed the police but no charges are being made because the driver has decided not to pursue the matter after all. The blow is said to have caused his head to strike the steering wheel leaving him behind with a bruise under his right eye. Campbell, one of the world’s highest-paid models of all times, has been convicted for a number of assault charges in the past.

Cardigans are comfortable and they’ve shifted to a basic item in the last few years. It’s easy (and above all fast) to put on a tee or blouse and throw over a cardi and belt for a ultra feminine waistline. We’re sure you’ve all had those days where you’re just in a hurry and don’t have time to pick your outfit. That’s where cardigans come in handy. And  that’s why we love cardi’s so much.

These days, that doesn’t include wearing what appeals just to magazine stylists. If there is anything Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana love, aside from a bustier, it’s a theme (particularly for their D&G collection). The models, cozied up in cute, cropped sweaters, teeny knit bloomers and tube tops accessorised with glittery goggles and knee-high fur boots, were strictly snow bunnies. It was an adorable Alpine escapade with Nordic knits done in combinations of maroon and ivory and grey and ivory, some sporting a reindeer or two. And sweaters, cabled turtlenecks, sweet, belted dresses, and pouf-sleeved tops together with chiffon tie-neck blouses and frothy skirts.

Canadian singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado has embraced her Latin roots – and the Latino music market – with the release of her first Spanish album MI Plan. She opened the Vancouver Olympics recently and here we see her in a fashionable way. Look at her shoulders and sharp jaw line, which is further accentuated by her hair and adorned with a statement necklace. Each item comes out perfectly and, together with the jumpsuit – which creates a slim silhouette – this is a great outfit.
